Chick-fil-a offered free Chick-fil-a sandwiches to anyone wearing sports apparel on Labor Day. Anna and I rounded up some of my friends in the park, walked 2 blocks to the nearest CFA and enjoyed dinner together-FREE! As we were walking to CFA they stopped along the way spreading the word to their friends on the street and the crowd grew. Since the guys didn't have sports shirts, I took some that had been donated to me. I only had 2 shirts and a hat so they lined up and after getting their sandwich they passed the shirt or hat along to the guy behind them. Towards the end the cashier said "I've seen that hat like 5 times. I don't think I can give him a free sandwich." I was like "Yes, you've seen that hat 7 times actually, but it is a different person wearing it, you can't refuse him service." The manager not only agreed with me, but appreciated what we were doing so much that he gave me a coupon. We all enjoyed sitting together, laughing and just hanging out in an air conditioned room. I loved the time to get to know each of them better as opposed to the serious moments we share over a game of chess. Before leaving everyone visited the bathroom and washed there face. It's the little things like this that I still take for granted. I'm grateful to them for the reminder to appreciate the simple things.
