Concrete world
I remember back to a time I'd spent one too many days in the concrete city of Bangalore, India. I remember while walking somewhere I saw A tree. I immediately sat down under it and refused to move until the Lord breathed fresh life in me. It was then that I realized I NEED time in God's creation. That is where I hear the Lord most clearly; it is where my soul breathes. I've been in Atlanta for 3 1/2 months now and I've started to notice some of the same feelings I felt in Bangalore: easily irritable, frustrated even angry. The guy outside the post office that ask me for change every day, the constant inundation of media and advertisement, the noise and busyness and the lack of trees start to wear on me after a while. I realized it was time for me to get away. My friend showed me this hidden piece of heaven not too far from the city. It's a place I can get lost in time, I can sit and contemplate as I listen to the birds and rushing river or I can explore and walk for hours. It is a place I can hear, smell, breathe and feel God. If you are wrapped up in the busyness of life, I challenge you to take some time to get away. It puts everything in perspective and allows you to be filled with the love needed to pour out.
