It's been a while

I know it has been a while since I've written about my encounters on the street. Rest assured I have many to catch up on. I hope to share a few of them over the next couple of days so check back and forgive me for the onslaught of entries in such a short amount of time. Each story is precious to me, I can't bear to leave any of them out.

Remember Cedric? He's the guy who takes my cans and recycles them. Anna had taken the picture featured in my last blog about him and printed it at CVS but we haven't seen him since. I ran into him on one of those rainy days we had a couple of weeks ago. He waited in the rain as I ran upstairs to get my bag of cans and the picture she'd printed of him. He received the picture as a precious gift. He told me that he'd never met anyone so nice as Anna and I. He asked me why we were so nice to him when he hadn't done anything to deserve it. I shared with him about the grace of God and how grace is love undeserved. As we stood there in the rain I felt the water was washing away more than dirt from his life. He asked me if we could talk more about this man (Jesus) one day when it wasn't raining so hard. I promised him we would.
